queenrileySo yesterday I was going to update with a quiz dump, but now that's awfully frivolous, due to recent events.
Yesterday morning, my grandmother died. At 10:30 eastern time. I got a call from my mother about half an hour after and she told me.
My mother and father left today to drive up to Maryland again. Alex and I stayed here this time. There is nothing we can do up there. For that matter, there is nothing we can do here either, aside from taking care of the cats, both of whom are very old (the two at my parents' house anyway), and one of whom needs medication twice a day. I suppose, in a way, I'm glad I'm not going this time. But I really wish I didn't have to stay here and feel so damn helpless.
There won't be a funeral or anything fancy. Nanny didn't want it that way. So my parents are going to bury her in a plot she bought, probably before I was even born. Nanny was always prepared for everything.
So either I'll be online A LOT and updating constantly with memories and such, or I won't be on at all and keeping myself to myself. I can't say which I'll do yet.
All I know is this. I was expecting it. I knew it would happen before the end of summer. But it didn't make it any less of a shock and it sure as hell doesn't make it hurt any less.
