Jul. 2nd, 2003 07:41 amToday I have a cranky baby. I had a book club meeting last night and was out from 6:30 to 9. Jeff stayed home with Alex. He knows her bedtime is 7:30. Apparently, at 7:30, she was playing and he asked if she wanted to go to bed yet, she, being 2 years old, of course said "No." so Jeff let her stay up. He didn't put her in bed until a few minutes before 9, probably because he knew if she was still up when I got home, I'd throttle him. She didn't get to sleep until 9:30. She was awake at her usual time of 7 am this morning. Consequently, she didn't get the sleep she normally does and is cranky.
Today I must journey to my mother's house to get her snickerdoodle recipe. I have a friend who is having a birthday in 2 weeks. I promised him snickerdoodles and he will get them. Even though it means I'm making an hour long drive through nasty Houston traffic on 610 (Susan, you know what I mean... the really bad part of 610, where it's really confussing and goes every which way without labeling clearly what goes where). Even though it means I'm making a drive I'm really uncomfortable with and will, in hopes to avoid most traffic, be making the trip sometime around midnight. I'm doing it. Why? Because he's a good man and deserves to have at least one person go out of their way to make sure he gets what he wants on his birthday.
Jeff is reading OotP. He reached Aunt Petunia's howler last night and put the book down because for five minutes he needed to process how "messed up" that was. If he reacts that way to just Aunt Petunia's howler, I wonder how he'll react to the rest of the book. He'll probably like Umbridge (and honestly, I like her too, I hate her so much I appreciate her as a purely evil character) because she's evil and he'll laugh at me for crying over the death because it won't affect him. *sigh* At least I have you lot to make me feel like a normal person for getting upset over a character death. At least none of you will make fun of me or make me feel stupid because it's just too much to handle. It also helps that I read it in one day and therefore processed EVERYTHING at once, while he is taking his time and reading it over the next few weeks.
Am thinking of dying my hair red. Dark deep red. For awhile I considered strawberry blonde, but I think something that light would come out looking more pink or it would make my face look even redder than it already does. Dark deep red would be okay, however I've never dyed my hair before and am nervous about it. I don't know how it will look and don't want to dye it and have everyone attempt to hide looks of disgust at how bad I look with red hair. I don't know. Many of you have not ever seen me or a picture of me, but you might know about dying hair and how to reassure a person with virgin hair. So, input? Should I dye or not? Yay or nay? All words of advice and help would be greatly appreciated.

Date: 2003-07-02 03:20 pm (UTC)My apologies for assuming you just let her stay up.
But she was still cranky this morning due to lack of sleep. So there. At least I got SOMETHING right.
And you were no help with the hair colour thing. :P
Dye it! (not diet) ;)
Date: 2003-07-02 10:39 pm (UTC)I've started coloring my hair red a few months ago and I love it! I do have the coloring for it...I have brown hair and freckles, and it works very well with the freckles, even thought they are brown. I get compliments on it all the time. In the winter, I did a dark auburn (whatever the Loreal Feria color is with Mila Jovovich on the box) but for summer I am going to try a coppery brown with highlights, which is the new Loreal two color system that has a base color and highlights. I have gray hair around my temples and elsewhere (and I'm only 32...*sighs*...)and I need to start coloring. I could go with the gray look, but I was looking forward to that when I was, oh...I don't know...60 or so. Anyway...I think you'll like it! Try it...it's fun!
Lilac (who added you to her friend's list :) )
