Jun. 9th, 2003 10:05 amJust a quick update. We'll be leaving the DC area (Maryland side) tomorrow. We'll be staying near my sister in Virginia for a day and then we'll be on the road back to Texas. We won't push it with 10-12 hour days going back, however, so it will take 4 days. I won't be able to check my email or livejournal until Sunday the 15th.
I want to thank everybody for the well-wishes and support you have given me over the past two weeks. It's meant a lot to me to know that I have good friends out there who are willing to help me when I'm down. I really appreciate it and cannot express enough my thanks to you.
Alex's birthday was yesterday. She is now officially 2 years old. She also spent nearly 3 hours of said birthday evening in the emergency room. Her first emergency room visit, and with her daredevil personality, I'm sure it won't be her last. She fell down yesterday and got a nasty gash on her forehead. It's small but very deep so she had to get stitches. It bled alot and she screamed, but they gave her a popsicle after they put the stitches in and she's been fine ever since. It took four people, well, me, my mother, a nurse, and the doctor used one hand to hold her and one for stitching, to hold her down while the doctor put the stitches in. All of us, plus a papoose board. She managed to break halfway out of the papoose board. The doctor was very confident that it wouldn't scar, but if it does, I think she'd actually like it as it would give her a great story to tell her friends when she's older. :) I'm actually amazed that I was able to hold myself together through all of it yesterday, though I was shaking by the time we got back to where we are staying.
So anyway, happy birthday to my baby girl. She's 2 years old now and growing entirely too fast for my liking.
