So... firstly a quiz dump )

And now, for the actual post.

Have been a busy bee. Will continue to do so for the rest of the week. Spent yesterday talking to a financial advisor about what to do for a college fund for Alex and money for Jeff and myself when we are older... just something that we might need, to put away for a rainy day.

Today I will be taking Alex to get her holiday pictures done. I also have dishes and household chores to do. Tonight I have my book club (yay!!) and will be making some tasty latkes and applesauce to bring with me. Our December meeting always includes tasty holiday food. The librarian who runs it makes wassail and sometimes cookies. The other members bring something they traditionally make. Seeing as I'm the only Jew (well, almost-Jew) I bring something usually associated with Chanukkah, and this year I actually know how to make good latkes. Gotta throw a little culture in now and again. I may get ambitious and make some gingerbread or spice cookies seeing as I sort of straddle the fence when it comes to the holiday season.

Tomorrow I have class. I'll do my first Judaism filter update either tomorrow before class or Thursday morning after class. I'm not entirely sure where to start, but I know what I want to talk about... there's just so much I want to discuss and I'm at a loss as to what needs to be said first. I'll figure it out by tomorrow.

Thursday I have a movie viewing with Susan, Kirk, and connielane (whom I know little about, but am very excited to meet. Susan says they are a lot alike and I adore Susan, so I'm guessing I'll like connielane too.) First time ever to view PotC, so I'm very excited. I've waited ever so long to see this movie, and it'll be even better first viewing since I'll be seeing it with Susan. :) That is, of course, assuming I don't get completely lost. I don't drive downtown Houston often, heck, usually I don't drive it at all if it can be helped. But I really want to be there. So I'll drive it. And I won't get lost (I hope I hope I hope).

Friday is Temple and that's it. The end of the week. We need to spend some time this weekend at Jeff's parent's house because his mother's birthday is Wednesday, especially since we won't be there for her actual birthday, what with my class and Jeff not getting home until 7.

I also have a part-time job as a nanny. A woman a friend of mine works with just came back from materinity leave and was looking for somebody to watch her son while she and her husband were at work. She didn't want to put him in a daycare center and couldn't afford it anyway ($150 for 3-4 days a week, 6 hours tops, it's crazy). Normally I charge $75 a week, however if I'm only going to have him 3 or 4 days and 4 to 6 hours, I wasn't going to charge my full price. So I'm only charging $50. Which is much less than they'd have to pay otherwise. I get paid every Friday (or final day of the week, if I don't have him on Fridays). He's a sweet little boy and absolutely adorable. I'm excited about this.

Alex has been sleeping in a toddler bed for about a month now and I realize I never updated about that momentous event. She learned how to climb out of her crib, like the little monkey she is, by clinging to the bars with her toes while holding the railing with her hands and swinging over. It took a few nights, but she doesn't get out of bed now when it's bedtime. The next hurdle will be potty-training, which I'm going to start after the holiday season is over.

I suppose that's really all I had at the moment. perceval's trip is coming up fast. My Iceland trip now seems not so very far away. I'm so excited! That is one good thing about this time of year. The days fly past in a blur, slow down right before the holidays, and then it's February next time you turn around.

Must do laundry sometime this week... and a trip to WalMart is also needed. Gah. I'll fit it all in somehow.
