Erm... okay?
Dec. 7th, 2002 07:34 pmI had updated two days ago with a little post, but livejournal seems to have eaten it... and this after it posted it three or four times... so... erm... okay... whatever.
For now: To all who celebrated, I hope you had a wonderful Hanukkah. I hope it was fun and safe and full of great food (mmm... latkes) and good friends. :)
Issues with 5 year old that I ranted about before have been resolved. I'll have her until the end of December, possibly later. Opportunity for two more children has been considered and accepted as soon as their mother becomes gainfully employed (but only part-time).
Have spent all of today with 5 year old and her family, babysitting while her dad and months-away-from-becoming-step-mother went to a Christmas party. That meant I had Alex, the 5 year old, the 7 year old step-brother, the 9 year old step-brother, the 11 year old sister, and the 13 year old sister. The 7 year old is a handful... a very hard to handle handful. It wasn't a bad day, just a very very tiring day. Will be going to bed soon. I did make $40 out of it though!
I've figured out exactly what I'm going to get for my non-religious, non-demoninational, non-Jesus-is-the-son-of-God-but-God-does-exist believing husband for his non-demoninational, non-religious Christmas. I think he'll like it. I hope he'll like it. I can't buy it yet... must wait until next Saturday as I won't have enough money until then. I won't say what it is on the off chance that he does still occasionally read this. So if he does, he can sit and suffer in the misery of having child-like impatience and curiosity. :) Sometimes it's very much fun to torture my husband. ;)
I had a whole post on World AIDS Day but I'm not going to put it up because it's just too depressing. My entire senior year was focused on the subject of AIDS. It was the basis of my senior exhibition (want to know more? go ahead and ask... I love talking about my high school). It hits close to home in more ways than one (want to know more? ask! I'll answer). World AIDS Day is a very important day for me, and it always will be. I've wanted to travel to San Fransisco just for the candlelight parade. I'll cry my eyes out, but I want to go sometime. Want to know more? Ask and ye shall recieve! (but be prepared for the response to be somewhat depressing and rather touching).
People have been talking about dreams lately, and I could talk about mine, but they really aren't all that interesting. They don't predict the future. They don't warn me of troubling times ahead (can't, I'm already in them). They are never the reason I have deja vu (must be a glitch in the matrix). They are just dreams... strange, odd, and often fanfic inspiring dreams. Just so you all know, I like hearing about your dreams. It's a fascinating topic. :)
I've become obsessed with something new. I caught, on BBC America some weeks back, a little show I'd seen numerous previews for but had never gotten around to watching. I checked it out since it was the only thing on and I was too tired to move from the chair. It was a nice show, believable and highly charming characters, great storylines... it's my new obsession. That little show is Monarch of the Glen. I've been sorely dissapointed to find nary a website devoted to it. No fanfic out there, no information on the actors, nothing. If anybody knows of any sites that I just happened to miss, please let me know. Monarch of the Glen. It's my new favourite show. Can't stop watching it.
I suppose that's all for now.
Next update: (tomorrow night, hopefully) Baby stories! Lots of cute baby stories. :P
