Quizzes and sick babies
Jan. 24th, 2003 08:05 pmPoor Alex isn't feeling well. She's got a horrible diaper rash that causes her to scream every time I change her diaper because it hurts to have anything touch it. We've been to the doctor and have a cream for it, though I'm hesitant to use it because of all the warnings and possible side effects... her doctor assured me (in his office and over the phone) that it's alright and is about the only thing that will help, since the rash isn't from sitting in wet pants too long, an allergic reaction, or a new food/change in diet. It's a fungal thing, so the cream will work fast. If it means she'll stop crying every time I change her diaper or give her a bath, well, I'll use anything. Poor baby.
Now,

Mmm... Lupin is good. Of course, I believe I'm not the right one for him. He'd be much better with:

The HP Male Marriage Quiz made by Sapphire.
But that's just me. ;)

What element would you rein over? (For Girls)
brought to you by Quizilla
That doesn't make one ounce of sense. I'm a morning person, a day person... I crash at night. I lose all sense of... well... everything at night because I'm just not meant to be up, darn it!

Which Literary Heroine Are You?
Well, yes, that does make sense. But the quiz was conflicted. I had to change a few answers to get a result at all, because it said I was tied for an answer. The other one I was tied with was:

Which Literary Heroine Are You?
Which makes me very happy. I've always loved Little Women. It's one of my favourite books and has been since I was a young girl. Though Beth was always my favourite, she wasn't in the quiz, so I'm perfectly happy with Jo. ;)

What Weird Quote Are You?
brought to you by Quizilla
Rock on! That's a neato quote.
I've also gone and nicked a survey from Catherine and Ashavah.
1. Beatles or Elvis? Beatles, of course. :)
2. What is your secret spy name? I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you. You're just too pretty a face to waste in this world, darlin'.
3. When you were a kid, you wanted to grow up to be...? An author. From first grade when I learned to write, I knew I wanted to write stories. Before I learned to write I wanted to be a storyteller. It's always been there... there were other things with it, as is common with most children, but an author was a constant. When I was 3 I wanted to be a tree...
4. Ever had an odd pet (anything other than dog, cat, fish)? I had a snail once. Two gerbils, a guinea pig, four or five hermit crabs, a frog, and I brought a snake home once but my dad wouldn't let me keep it. Snakes creep him out.
5. Ever taken an oath of allegiance? to the US, yes, when I was a child in school, though I have not said it in years and I don't think I ever really said it with much feeling.
6. Is your hair colour currently your natural colour? Yes. I don't dye my hair. I don't need to. I like the fact that it is the exact same colour as my daughter's hair. :)
7. Your current celebrity crushes? Dominic Monaghan. That boy is mine. ;)
8. Do you own any Tupperware? Yes, lots of it. A whole cabinet full.
9. Ever re-gifted an item? Not that I know of. I often find something around the house that I know somebody will love and will give it to them, but I don't believe I have ever re-gifted an item. I'm pretty good about remembering who game me what and keeping that.
10. Your favourite Stooge? Not a Stooges fan, sorry.
11. Daffy Duck or Donald Duck? I'm really not a fan of either, but I guess Donald if I really had to choose.
12. Favourite game to play? GameCube games- well, we only have one and it's okay, but there are bunches out there I want to buy. PlayStation2- I don't really play that often... I use it for it's DVD capabilities, but I did enjoy playing Chrono Cross for awhile. That was fun. :) Board games- Outburst, Charades, Pictionary, Life, stuff like that. I'd love to learn to play chess, but I need to find a non-competitive person who won't unintentionally make me feel stupid when I lose constantly to teach me. ;)
13. You do a GREAT impression of? Um... I don't really do impressions of specific people very often, and I'm sure those aren't all that great. I do a pretty good version of a monkey though. I'm good with accents. If I hear it for at least 5 minutes, I adopt it as my own and don't realize I'm speaking it unless I make the concious effort to do so.
14. Strange skill you have that not many people know about? I can twist my tongue both directions, but I don't think that's considered a strange skill. I'm ambidextrous, but once again, I don't think that's a strange skill.
15. The body part you like best on yourself is? This would require me to like my body... so I'll go with the only thing that I'm proud of... my c-section scar. I had to go through a lot of pain and complications for that scar, so I'm darn proud of it. :)
16. A bad habit you have is? I bite my nails. I sometimes correct people's grammar, if it's really atrocious, though I'm not as bad about that as I used to be. I fidget.
17. The last concert you went to? the ONLY concert I've been to was a 60's teen pop idols tour. It had my dreamboat, Davy Jones. I was happy. I don't really go to concerts though. They're too crowded, though I am going to try to get tickets to the Wiggles when they come back to Houston this summer. Alex will have a blast.
18. Kinkiest location you've ever done it? Ahem. I'm sure your views of me will be dropped down quite a bit by this, but I'll answer truthfully anyway. On the curb in front of my best friend's boyfriend's house, with his next door neighbour... in the middle of the afternoon.
19. Your favourite fast food burger is? any cheeseburger really, and I like it mostly because I can't have it. Cheese and meat eaten together don't agree with my tummy very much anymore.
20. In the movie of your life, who do you want to play you? Some unknown actress who is struggling in life and needs to become rich, and then let the movie of my life be #1 for months on end so that said unknown actress can become rich.
21. Your dream car? Volkswagon Beetle or a Saturn ION... I like tiny cars. ;)
22. Your favourite comic strip is? For Better or For Worse. I've been reading it for as long as I can remember. I even cried when Farley died.
23. Do you still have your appendix? Yes.
24. Toilet paper: rolled under or over? Over.
25. Your favourite doughnut? Cinnamon and sugar
26. Favourite football team? ManUtd of course!
27. Favourite Simpsons quote? I don't really watch the Simpsons.
28. Do you collect anything interesting? not particularly... I'm a pack rat. I collect books... and Kevin Smith movies... and episodes of The State on my computer.
29. What are your hobbies? writing, reading, acting (once upon a time, a long long time ago... not lately though), and sadly, that's all I really ever do anymore... though not as much writing as I would like.
30. Your favourite form of chocolate? chocolate covered caramels, particularly Nestle Treasures. And Dairy Milk. I adore Dairy Milk.
31. Your guilty pleasure? smut, F/S, R/S, and my occasional ressurection of my old Culture Club and New Kids On The Block tapes... ah, 80's pop. ;)
32. Your favourite piece of sushi? Not a sushi eater... sorry.
33. Your favourite way to blow $20? Books! Or movies... or music, but mostly books.
34. Your personal theme song? I don't have a personal theme, though I do feel as if some songs are speaking more to me as a person than others.
35. Do you have any jewellery that contains your birthstone? No, but then, I'm not a diamond kind of girl.
36. Your favourite sandwich? Turkey, lettuce, tomato, pickle, mayo.
37. The farthest place you've ever travelled to? farthest from where I am now, or farthest distance overall? Farthest from now would be when my father, on a whim, drove me north (we were living in Viginia at the time) to see how far we could get in one day without pushing it. We ended up somewhere in Vermont, I believe. Farthest in general was the trip from Virginia to Texas for the move.
38. What would you do with a million dollars? Give a hefty chunk to Circe, misspince, and hildi and do it IN PERSON (with a stop for a smaller chunk for Catherine, but smaller only because she's established in a wonderful career, as is her husband, and while I'm sure they could use some extra money, they don't need it quite as much as Circe). Visit both England and Iceland and decide which one I wanted to live in. Buy a house in said country. I would then buy a comfortable couch and chairs that match, a real dining room table, and a bed... definately a nice big fluffy mattress with a beautiful bedframe made entirely of natural wood. Mmm... a bed would be very nice. I would give the rest to charity.
39. What is one of your life goals? To be published. It doesn't have to be successful, but I would really like to have my own book be published.
40. Your favourite foreign language film? The Eva movies were pretty good... so was the Ah!My Goddess movie. Just about anything Anime, really.
Also am VERY glad Catherine is feeling so much better, even if she does still have her bad spots.
Have cleaned the whole of the apartment today, except the bedroom because once I cleaned a bit of it, Alex would come behind me and mess it again, which is fine, because she's almost 20 months old and that's her job... which she's excellent at. And I can't clean it while she's sleeping since she's not a rather light sleeper.
I believe that's it for now. :)
