I suppose I'm the only one to be excited about this. I knew it was coming. There is a preview for it on the Winnie the Pooh's Very Merry Pooh Year DVD, which I have (though it was technically given to Alex). I did not, however, know it was coming March 21st, 2003. I knew it would be around my birthday, and I'm quite happy to find out it will be before my birthday. :D
Piglet has always been my favourite character. I've adored Winnie the Pooh since my father read me one chapter a night at bedtime. I was 2 or 3, I think, when he started. Piglet was my favourite then, and he remains so, even though Disney made him a horrid pink colour with pink clothes instead of his nice blue outfit and soft pink colour. Either way, he's still my favourite. I sympathize with the little guy. We're both small. We're both left out and looked over. We're both self concious with low self esteem and rather... erm... not very brave I suppose. We're both very shy. :) I adore Piglet. I always wanted more merchandise of him, since forever it was only Winnie the Pooh or Tigger you could get. But now he's got a movie coming out. A movie that I can go see in theaters as a birthday present. A movie all about my little guy that will give him the respect and attention he so richly deserves. After all, he is Winnie the Pooh's very best friend (besides Christopher Robin, of course).
I suppose it's childish of me to still love Winnie the Pooh, the books and the movies. But I do and I'm not going to stop loving them, buying them, watching them, and reading them just because I'm not a kid anymore. And I'm not going to pretend that I'm just doing it for Alex, because I'm doing it for me too.

She's not even two yet, so to bring her with me would 1. be awfully rude to the other patrons wishing to see the movie, and 2. be awfully distracting to me to have to chase her around. Now, if it were the Wiggles or Sesame Street, that might be a little different. ;)

Ooo! If you are in Dallas maybe we could meet up for lunch during Akon! I'll be going this year (finally, I've been trying to go for 3 years now) so if you'll be around and free end of May/begining of June... :) I'm always happy to find another adult who likes Winnie the Pooh.

Good luck with your mom. Moving out of the house you've lived in for so long can be very difficult, especially on elderly people.
