So I know many of you probably don't care, being either childless or with children that are basically young adults at this point, but I wanted to share something.
I'm a carseat nerd. This is not news. What is news is many of my carseat nerd friends are very creative people. And one of them has made an AWESOME video. It explains extended rear-facing and why it's so much safer, why the AAP now recommends to rear-face until at least 2 years old and 30 pounds OR the limits of the carseat. It explains the dangers of forward facing too early and it does it all with basic, non-confrontational facts.
Best of all, it has pictures of extended rear-facing kids in it!
That means it has pictures of MY son in it! FOUR pictures in fact. :D
So while I know many of you have no use for this information, I'm going to share the video anyway. Because it has my son in it. Four times. And I'm excited about it.
(and just for anyone that is curious, he rear-faced until 3 years 11 months old... 38 inches tall, 33 pounds which is the limit of his particular carseat. If I had money, I could buy him a 40 pound seat and keep him rear-facing longer.)
