Dec. 20th, 2003 08:13 amHappy Chanukah!
I'll be doing my Judaims filter update in a few minutes. First, I wanted to post a
1. IF YOU COULD BUILD A HOUSE ANYWHERE WHERE WOULD IT BE?
Much as I'd love to say the Maryland side of DC, it's too crowded for me, so is the Virginia side. I'd say England, but I've never been so can't say for sure (and it's crowded... and though the pollution is better than here, slightly, it's still there). Right now I'm going to say Iceland. I'd like to build a house in Iceland. The biggest city is about the same size or a little smaller than the TOWN I live in, which is a suburb to a big big city. There is next to no pollution in Iceland. That means clean air. That means bye bye asthma attacks. There are no insects that I'm allergic to. Heck, there really aren't many insects at all.
2. WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE ARTICLE OF CLOTHING?
I have this lovely purple pullover. It's soft and warm and actually makes me look kind of nice. Mind, I've only gotten to wear it about four times, three of which were mostly wishful thinking, and one I had the AC blasting so it was cold inside...
3. IF YOU COULD HAVE CHOSEN YOUR NAME WHAT WOULD IT HAVE BEEN?
When I was younger I wanted it to be anything but what it is. Now I rather like my name. It's unique. I've only ever met two others in my entire life. One was an adult when I was a small child and was the mother of the children across the street. The other was in high school with me, which lead to me getting a nickname that still sticks with me (and I don't like it).
4. WHERE IS YOUR FAVORITE PLACE TO BE?
This is going to sound cheesy and completely unlike me, but at the moment, Temple is my favourite place to be. It's calming. I'm surprisingly relaxed there. I can go in mad, sad, depressed about life in general, yet I come out happy and smiling, singing even! And to get me to sing takes quite a feat, as I have a horrible singing voice. :) Most of the time though it'd be bookstores or the library, but right now they are so overrun with people I won't go near them unless you paid me an exorbetant amount of money (like, enough to support myself, Jeff, and Alex comfortably for the rest of my life).
5. WHERE IS YOUR LEAST FAVORITE PLACE TO BE?
At the moment, anywhere near the mall.
6. WHAT TIME DO YOU WAKE IN THE MORNING?
Anywhere between 6 and 7 am.
7. WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE KITCHEN APPLIANCE?
I'm quite infatuated with my George Foreman grill at the moment, though that won't last. Eventually the cleaning of it will get to me and I'll put it away for another few months until I rediscover it.
8. WHAT MAKES YOU REALLY ANGRY?
Prejudice, ignorance, intollerance, and George W. Bush.
9. IF YOU COULD PLAY ANY MUSICAL INSTRUMENT, WHAT WOULD IT BE
Piano. I've always wanted to learn piano.
9a - If you could have one creative skill what would it be?
I want to be able to write better. I've got stories, real actual novels, floating around in my head. They've been there for years, adapting, changing as time goes by. One of them I actually wrote down when I was 15, took me two years to finish. I think it's a good plot, but my writing is terrible. I've done revisions, but it still isn't right... it's still... well I don't know. Pacing? Flat characters? It's just wrong is all.
10. FAVORITE COLORS?
Blue, all shades, several shades of purple, silver, black
11. DO YOU BELIEVE IN AN AFTER LIFE?
I suppose I do in a way, but I'm too busy focusing on living this life right to worry much about an afterlife.
12. FAVORITE CHILDREN'S BOOK?
Winne the Pooh. Always has been, always will be.
13. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SEASON?
Winter! I love the cold. I love the snow (that we don't get here, ever). I love the ice and the wind. I love how everything in nature is sleeping, waiting, resting. It's quiet in winter, something you can't find in other seasons. I love the smell of it, of cold, of freshness, of impending snow. It's my favourite smell. I could wax poetic about winter for hours. Spring and fall bring my allergies to a miserable high point, at their worst those seasons. Summer brings the intense, deathly heat (literally, we have a "body count" every summer... on the news "10 people have died so far from the heat this summer") and the pollution that flares me into asthma attacks once or twice a week if I go outside at all. But winter... ah glorious winter.
14. IF YOU COULD HAVE ONE SUPERPOWER WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Telepathic-telekinesis. :D Hey, it counts as one...
15. IF YOU HAVE A TATTOO, WHAT IS IT?
No tattoo. Are you kidding me? I won't even desecrate my ears by piercing them, you think I'd get a tattoo?
16. DO YOU JUGGLE?
Nope, never really interested me.
17. THE ONE PERSON FROM YOUR PAST YOU WISH YOU COULD GO BACK AND TALK TO.
Anthony Roberts. He moved to Australia when we were sophomores in high school. We kept in contact for awhile, but have lost touch. I really miss that man. He was a good man.
19. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE DAY?
Um... I don't know... can't say as I have one. My days really don't differ, being a housewife and all.
20. WHAT IS IN THE TRUNK OF YOUR CAR?
A stroller, some bags with presents for Alex, a bag of cat litter (keep forgetting it's in there, I need to bring it in), some laundry I'm about to go to the laundramat to do.
21. SUSHI OR A BURGER?
Not a sushi fan. Definately a burger.
22. FROM THE PEOPLE YOU WILL EMAIL THIS TO WHO IS MOST LIKELY TO REPLY FIRST?
Didn't email, but whomever feels like taking it will be free to do so.
23. WHO IS LEAST LIKELY TO RESPOND?
Doesn't really apply, does it?
24. WHO DID YOU RECEIVE THIS FROM?
slowfox
25. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CARTOON?
If you mean newspaper comic, I like Foxtrot and For Better or For Worse. If you mean television animated cartoon, I'd have to say... Rainbow Brite. Of the more recent cartoons I'm rather partial to Kipper.
26. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MEAL?
Spaghetti
27. WHO IS THE ONE PERSON THAT YOU cannot LIVE WITHOUT?
Alex. She holds so much of my heart. If I had to live without her, I'd be living without my heart. I'd be alive, but I wouldn't be living.
28. IF YOU COULD MEET ANY PERSON, LIVING OR PASSED ON, WHO WOULD IT BE?
I'm really not sure. There are so many I'd like to meet, so many I'd like to know, famous and non.
29. IF YOU COULD CHANGE ONE THING ABOUT GOVERNMENT, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
I'm fuzzy on details for the governments of most countries, so I'll stick with the US. There is so much screwed up here with our government that changing one thing wouldn't really fix anything. How bout we just get a new president and see where we can go from there?
30. IF YOU WON A MILLION DOLLARS-WOULD YOU INVEST IT OR BLOW IT?
Invest some of it. Blow some of it. But I wouldn't call buying a house, or a car, or college for Alex, or a house for my parents and sister, or something for Jeff's parents blowing it. I'd say that's very useful and practical things to spend a million dollars on. :)
Also, going to see Return of the King in about 6 hours. Kirk, expect your present, so get there a little early so you can open it and put it in your car if you'd like. :)
