Nov. 8th, 2003 08:58 amSo it's actually starting to get cool finally. I caught a chill coming out of temple last night and was pleasently surprised by the nip in the wind. This makes me happy.
Not much to update with other than we are finally mostly unpacked. We are getting high speed internet and actual cable hooked up today.
Jeff is sick. I'm sick. Alex is sick. Jeff is the worst off though. Alex is doing much better than she was yesterday, and I'm muddling through, but Jeff came down with this cold really bad. He'll sleep most of today and some tonight and I bet he will feel better tomorrow morning. He's lucky that he can do that.
Visit from the in-laws tomorrow so they can see the new place "but only if it's put together" as they don't want to look at a bunch of boxes. Fingers crossed that this will be good enough for them (not like I'd move or be disapointed in the place if it wasn't, as I'm more than happy with it, but it's easier to spend my weekends not hearing such things as "Well [insert Jeff's sister's name here] and [insert her husband's name here] got such a nice apartment for only $100 more than you are paying" nevermind that it's the same layout and "Couldn't you find something better?" and "You'll move somewhere nice when the lease is up, right?"). Every place we've been in before hasn't been good enough. They wouldn't visit but for the first time to lay judgement on the place (and my strange layouts of rooms) and then refused to come over again. Not like that would be such a bad thing... I don't like surprise visits and much prefer to plan our time with them at their place. Still. Here's to hoping.
My parents quite like it. They both saw it the day we moved in. Daddy helped us move and my mother came over after dinner (she watched Alex in the afternoon, once she got off work). Neither of them cared that there were boxes all over the place and the furniture hadn't found it's final location. They think it's a very nice place and were both duely impressed with the HUGE kitchen.
Sister may be coming home for a visit around Free Crap Day time (as I've taken to calling Christmas anyway, like Jeff has, he started the whole thing two years ago). She has the time off work and she misses Alex, but she's not sure she'll make it down this year.
Erm... I think that's all I really have to say. All I've been doing this week is unpacking, so not much interesting there.
