Dec. 25th, 2003 08:27 amI'd like to take this opportunity to say I think I have the best husband ever. He made me think he hadn't been able to get my gift yet. He made me believe I had nothing to open today. So we get up, and Alex is very excited about her gifts. Jeff opens his book (his main gift was his new computer from a month or two ago). Next thing I know Jeff is saying "What's that, in the tree?" I go looking and see a little box. No name on it but I know it's for me. In this little box is the most beautiful ring I have ever seen. It's white gold, like our wedding bands, raised with a pretty design on the sides. In the center is a blue stone, blue being my favourite colour and on a small diamond rests on each side of the blue stone. It's the most beautiful thing I think I've ever seen.
See, we couldn't afford an engagement ring before. I never had one. Heck, we'd been married for awhile before we could even afford the wedding rings themselves. Alex was at least 6 months old, if not a year, when we got the wedding rings. So now he finally got me my engagement ring (the one I never even once asked for, knowing we couldn't afford it, but he knew I wanted one somehow).
I want to cry again, it's so wonderful.
