Blue Monday
Oct. 28th, 2002 07:42 pmWell there is apparently a hurricane battering Mexico and Houston is getting the spindly arms of it. It's been raining here for about a week straight now, and there is no end in sight as a storm from the Gulf just started to pound us after the hurricane left us, and we're looking at more storms coming. Hrm. I like the rain... but really... this is getting rediculus. First we go half of spring and all summer without rain. Then we freak out over a possible tropical storm that misses us entirely. Now it won't stop raining. Grr. Weather. Bah to it I say, bah.
Because of the horrid rain we didn't get to go to RenFaire on Sunday. I'm very disapointed. It doesn't look like I'll be going this year. But maybe if I'm a good girl and save my money I'll get to go to Akon at the end of May. That'll be fun. Not as fun as RenFaire, but it'll be fun. Maybe I'll run into a few others Quillers there. We'll see.
I've been a busy little bumblebee's bum today. Not only did I get both bathrooms cleaned (complete with tubs scrubbed free of mildew) but I managed to wash the dishes, mop the kitchen floor (I'm a messy dishwasher, that did half the work right there) and clean the entire living room top to bottom without Alex getting mad at me for not playing with her or reading to her. Tis a good thing, a clean house, though it's something I rarely have.
On another note, I'm going to start looking into government grants and financial aid and see if I can't get some college classes under my belt starting in spring or even next fall if that's what it takes. I'd really like to go back to school. I can take evening and night courses so there will always be somebody to watch Alex. It may put me in debt for the rest of my life, but I think it would be well worth it, to go back to school.
