Ahaha, that is indeed an awesome typo! I don't know if Esther was much of a stylist or hairdresser, though I imagine it would be rather tiring to shave an entire people. The Jewish community in Persia wasn't huge by any modern standards, but it wasn't exactly small either. That's a lot of people to shave! :D

And yes, Purim is a lot of fun! When the megillah (Book of Esther) is read, we all have groggers that make a tremendous racket (when you have hundreds of them going at once, it's LOUD). We rattle the groggers for Mordechai and we boo loudly for Haman. It's a very audience participatory story.

Plus the carnival with games and people dressed up and actors running around pretending to be the characters from the story. Kids get candy and prizes and all kinds of little tchotchke toys.

And there's a huge feast the night of. And hamantaschen are seriously the best cookie in the world. Sweet and soft and fruity. Mmmmmmm. I need to make another batch today. We tore through the first batch.
