Hehe. We have digital cable. I'm not a big telly watcher, but it does keep me connected to the world outside of Humble and the US.
Alex has her shows. She watches the Wiggles every morning. She watches Sesame Street. She occasionally watches Blues Clues.
I watch Ground Force and Changing Rooms sometimes. I turn on the news. It's somewhat accurate and it's good at helping me force myself not to be depressed (after all, if one can remain happy while watching the news, one has good control over ones emotions).
Today I was elated to discover a football game on FoxSportsWorld (which I wouldn't get if I didn't have digital cable). Chelsea at ManUtd. Mmmm... Manchester United. They aren't playing as well as usual in this game (or I should say weren't, as I know I'm not getting it live or anything) but they still pulled it off. Tied 1 to 1 until the last few minutes when ManUtd scored a surprise goal and won the game. :D :D :D I'm sure this is not news to any of you, but for a ManUtd fan isolated from the games, this is great. :D :D :D
The best part about this? Alex is sitting on the couch watching the game. Every now and then she points to the screen and says "Football!" She cheers when I cheer. She huffs and crosses her arms when I frown. She's actually sitting and watching it all on her own. She's not jumping up every few minutes, but is just sitting there watching the football game.
God love my daughter, she's a smart girl. :)
