queenrileyUgh... have been quite ill. Like, crawl in a cave, curl up, and wish for death ill. But I'm doing somewhat better now. Sort of. Recovery sucks, but not as much as the actual being ill. Needless to say, sorry for my silence for the past, oh, week. :P
I hobble my way back to the land of the living with a meme!

ashavah gave me a very difficult task. Why difficult? Because she managed to pick three of my LEAST favourite characters for their respective canon. :P

Malcolm Reynolds
Of these three, I like Mal the best. He's got his issues, sure. He's standoffish, he's a loner, he's a hopeless dreamer, and his plans often go awry. I can handle that. I seem to have a thing for hopeless dreamers, so I could deal with that, even if his lack of tact would drive me up the wall. I think he and I could come to a solid understanding and have a bit of a mutual appreciation, even if there wasn't much of a spark. Marriage of convenience perhaps, but he's far better suited to me than the other two!

Owen Harper
I don't really like Owen much, up until the end. I don't like how he treated Tosh. I don't like how he willingly contributed to Gwen's adultery without any qualms or question. I don't like how he struts about (until he dies, that takes him down a few pegs, I like him better after that). I don't even really find him all that attractive. I do, however, like his accent. So if I kept my eyes closed and he was able to talk most of the time, I could possibly enjoy it. I'm just shagging him, after all, not trying to form some long-term relationship or anything. Just a shag would work (and be right up his ally... that's what he does). While Owen's lack of anything resembling morals or compassion make me want to toss him off the cliff, he gets the shag for his voice, experience, and because I find him more interesting than the last option (not better, just more interesting).

He's a nice enough character. Morally upstanding, brave, and all that. But I find him rather boring. And not at all attractive. Not even remotely. I couldn't marry him. I have no interest in him at all. I couldn't shag him as I just can't get myself worked up enough over him to enjoy it. I can't muster the interest. So off the cliff he goes. That's alright, though, as I'm sure he'll hit a river and be rescued by a horse only to rush in and save the day at the last minute, just like the last time he was tossed off a cliff. ;)
