May. 31st, 2006 10:57 pmWe have language, ladies and gentlemen! (man? How many males actually read my lj now anyway...)
After months of babble, and a full 2 months after his (albeit, language advanced) sister did, Sam has spoken, LOUD and clear. May 7th we think he said Dada... about 4 times... it was Jeff's birthday, but he hasn't really said it again since, so I'm not counting it as his first word.
Since this past weekend however, I'm constantly hearing "MumMumMumMum!" As loud as he can say it. I walk out of a room he yells "MumMum!" He's hungry, he burrows into my shoulder/chest/arm/body-part-in-close-proximity and yells "MumMum!" Somebody else is holding him and he wants me, he yells "MumMum!" During dinner, he yells "MumMum!" If he wants me to pick him up, give him a toy, play with him, rock/nurse him to sleep, etc... it's all "MumMum"
No, I'm not Mama, I'm MumMum.
Works for me! I'll be delighted if he keeps the Mum part, or goes to Mummy, instead of what Alex did which was, after awhile, switch to Mommy from Mummy and now I'm just Mom. I'd like to be Mummy forever. :)
